J.J. (Janne) Verstappen MA

Research fellow

Janne holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Cultural Studies and went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Social Geography. She carried out research into the sustainability of education for King’s College London and participated in the Dutch National Think Tank on the social value of big data. As a consultant with Rotterdam-based creative development agency BLOC, she worked on economic and spatial projects in the Netherlands.

In her role as research fellow, Janne is working on the Money Creation, Uncertainty and Social Discontent and Philanthropy projects.


Janne is a member of the scientific staff working on the projects 'Geldschepping' (‘Money creation’) and 'Filantropie' (‘Philanthropy’).
