dr. A. (Alyt) Damstra

Alyt Damstra is a member of the WRR’s scientific staff. She is also a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Amsterdam.

Alyt holds a PhD in Political Communication at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research, University of Amsterdam. Her PhD research focused on the triangular relationship between the economy, economic news coverage, and public opinion. In addition, Alyt studied media effects on voting behaviour as well as political processes. She is currently involved in an international research project focusing on knowledge resistance. Prior to her academic career, Alyt was an actress, with screen credits on numerous productions.
