Ruth Mampuys is a member of WRR’s scientific staff. Ruth has a background in medical biochemistry and philosophy. Previously, she worked at the Rathenau Institute and COGEM (Committee on Genetic Modification). While there, she dealt with biotechnological developments and their social, ethical and legal implications.
Doctoral research
Ruth Mampuys is completed her doctoral dissertation on the possibilities and limitations of technocratic, participatory and legal strategies for dealing politically with ‘wicked problems’. She defended her dissertation at the Erasmus School of Law in Rotterdam early 2021.
