WRR report no. 85: Attached to the world
WRR Report no. 85 Aan het buitenland gehecht (Attached to the world) was presented to the Minister and State Secretary of Foreign Affairs on 30 November 2010.
Few countries are as closely interwoven politically, economically and socially with the rest of the world as the Netherlands. This means that the Dutch government has to be alert in its response to the risks and opportunities presented by a rapidly changing world. In this report, the WRR provides a few pointers in this regard. The leading question is how the Netherlands can develop a foreign policy strategy which is appropriate for the shifting balance of power in the world and the radically changing nature of international relations.
WRR Report no. 85 Aan het buitenland gehecht: over verankering en strategie van Nederlands buitenlandbeleid (Attached to the world: on the anchoring and strategy of Dutch foreign policy) is available from 30 November 2010 from the WRR website, as well as from bookshops and Amsterdam University Press.
