Seminar publication 'For the Next Generations'
The WRR’s mission is to provide strategic/scientific advice in support of Dutch government policy that is in continuous development in terms of content and methodologies. The Chairman of the WRR, Professor André Knottnerus, explained the essential aspects of this mission during an international seminar organised by the Finnish Parliamentary Committee for the Future on 7 and 8 June 2016.
His lecture, The Netherlands Scientific Council for Government Policy: an introduction to the Council and its contributions to the craft of scientific advice is published as part of the collection For the Next Generations, Report of the International Seminar in the Finnish Parliament 7-8 June 2016.
In his talk, Professor Knottnerus focused among other things on the mission of the WRR, the Council’s working methods and the impact of scientific policy advice. The seminar is an initiative of the Finnish Parliamentary Committee for the Future, the Prime Minister’s Office, the National Foresight Network and the Finnish innovation fund Sitra.
