Council member Prof. Dr. Andrea Evers has passed away

On Monday, August 4th, our dear colleague Andrea Evers passed away. We have lost an inspiring and incredibly pleasant colleague. We are grateful for her sharp mind, broad expertise, and personal interest in the work of others. Her groundbreaking insights into behavioral factors that influence well-being and health are of lasting value to our work. Andrea was unparalleled in her field at translating scientific research into the insights necessary for policy. She was not only a celebrated scientist and expert on the interaction between science and policy, but her warm collegiality also meant a great deal to us.

We will miss her and wish her family, loved ones, and friends a lot of strength with this great loss.

Andrea had been a council member of the WRR since January 2024. She was involved in the project Participating in Health Challenges and worked on the advice Covid-19 scenario’s prior to her membership on the council. As a professor of Health Psychology, she was affiliated with Leiden University.
