Consequences for the Netherlands
In the report European Ageing in Focus, the WRR shows that Europe’s ageing population is creating economic, social, and political pressure. This has broad implications for inflation, government budgets, monetary policy, and European cooperation. These consequences also affect the Netherlands, which differs from most other European countries that are ageing more rapidly and possess less pension capital. It is important for the Netherlands to take into account the potential consequences of ageing in Europe.
